Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using NORM ("the Platform"), operated by BHVD Inc., you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. The Service
NORM is an independent transparency scoring platform that evaluates the alignment between brand marketing claims and publicly visible evidence. Scores are generated by automated pipelines and do not constitute legal, medical, or financial advice.
3. Intellectual Property
All scoring algorithms, pipeline architectures, dimension weighting systems, methodology documentation, and proprietary scoring logic are the exclusive intellectual property of BHVD Inc. This includes but is not limited to:
- The NORM Signal Engine™ scoring methodology
- Automated claim extraction and evidence alignment processes
- Dimension scoring formulas and confidence calculations
- The NORM badge and embeddable widget systems
- All visual design, branding, and user interface elements
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or data structures of the Platform's scoring engine.
4. Data Usage & Restrictions
NORM scores and data are provided for personal, non-commercial informational purposes unless you hold an active Data API subscription. Specifically:
- No scraping. Automated collection, harvesting, or scraping of NORM data is strictly prohibited.
- No redistribution. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute NORM scores, badge data, or API responses without written authorization.
- No derivative databases. You may not aggregate NORM data to create competing products, databases, or scoring systems.
- Attribution required. Any permitted display of NORM scores must include clear attribution to NORM (trynorm.co).
5. API Terms
Access to the NORM API is subject to rate limits and authentication requirements. API responses include digital watermarks for abuse tracking. Excessive or unauthorized API usage may result in immediate access revocation without notice.
6. Badge System
Brands may display the NORM badge on their websites using the official embed code. The badge must:
- Link to the official NORM badge page
- Not be modified, altered, or displayed in a misleading context
- Be removed upon request if the brand's score changes materially
7. Score Independence
NORM scores are generated independently. Paid subscriptions (Consumer Pro, Brand Pro, Data API) provide additional access and tools — they do not influence, modify, or grant priority in the scoring pipeline. This separation is enforced structurally, not by policy alone.
8. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when registering. One account per individual.
9. Limitation of Liability
NORM scores are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. BHVD Inc. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of NORM scores or data. Scores may change as new evidence becomes available.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time for violations of these terms, including but not limited to scraping, unauthorized redistribution, or abuse of the API.
11. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
